Honorable Poetry

Kilmer once penned, “I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree.” We are so pleased Opera Memphis does not share this sentiment. MBA 9th Grade Exec Jerrica Quinn received an honorable mention for her entry into the Opera Memphis Creative Writing contest. Poets were asked to base their works on either Carroll Cloar’s or Ernest C. Withers’ online Brooks Museum exhibit. Jerrica’s poem is called “Like a Tree” and is inspired by Carroll Cloar’s “Avenue of Trees” exhibit.
