D.E.C.A. stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America.  This organization was launched right here, in Memphis, Tennessee in April 1947.  Today, this organization has more than 215,000 members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Germany, Guam, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Spain.

The mission of DECA is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

Our goal, at MBA, through participation in DECA activities and competitive events is to teach students how to communicate their business academic thoughts and ideas, organize a presentation, gain problem solving skills, network with all people, and understand the business expectations of corporate America.Hernando DECA

Upcoming Events:

December 2017, DECA will “Spread Joy” at MBAE and MBA STEM.  DECA students will engage the kindergartners and first graders in fun-festive activities.

December 4-8: During DECA Spirit Week, DECA members will host fun activities to engage all Execs in Distributive Education opportunities.

District Competition, January 19, 2018.  DECA members will compete with students across the city in the subjects of Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Law, and Hospitality and Tourism.

Regional Competition, March 8-12, 2018 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Students that won district competition will then compete against all of the winners in the state of Tennessee.

National Competition, April 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Regional winners will compete against all the winners in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
